Mouthwash: The Way to a Cleaner, Fresher Smile

Oral hygiene is vital if you want strong and successful oral health. However, it’s only beneficial if you have the right techniques and tools. So, if you tend to brush your teeth twice a day and floss once, our Dental Art Concepts PLLC team asks you to also consider the use of mouthwash.

Mouthwash in Staten Island, New York, can benefit you in many ways. In fact, if you rinse your mouth at least once a day with effective mouthwash, your smile will be cleaned, nourished, and freshened. There are two different types of mouthwashes in the world today, and those washes are:

-Therapeutic mouthwash: This rinse can greatly improve your oral health. It can reduce plaque, the chances of developing gum disease, and tooth decay. This rinse can also strengthen your teeth with fluoride and completely clean the hard-to-reach areas of your smile, freshening your breath.

-Cosmetic mouthwash: This rinse is only used for cosmetic purposes. Typically, within 12 or so weeks, the rinse can whiten your smile and give you the bright and pristine results you are looking for. Cosmetic mouthwash can also cover your bad breath and leave a pleasant taste in your mouth.

No matter which mouthwash you choose, please pick one that has been approved by the American Dental Association. If you choose a rinse that has this stamp of approval, you will be cleaning your smile with a safe and effective rinse. For more information about mouthwash, please call our office at (718) 313-4343 and schedule an appointment with your dentist, Dr. Matthew Scaffa. We are happy to tell you all we know about mouthwash!
